'In My Back Yard' - 9th International Print Exchange - October 2026

Printmakers from around the world are invited to join us in the 9th year of this exchange!

Theme: In My Backyard
Be as liberal as you like with your interpretation of this theme…

Paper Size and print requirements:
Paper size is to be 12x12cm square (4.7 inches square).
Images can be printed on any part of the paper or edge-to-edge (bleed print).
See previous IMBY prints here as a guide.

NOTE: Please label each print with artist’s name, title and medium printed in pencil on the reverse side. (vital for catalogue and exchange information)

Number of prints:
Each artist is to create an edition of 10 (ten) prints, signed and numbered (1/10, 2/10,3/10 etc). One print will be kept by Castlemaine Press for exhibition, publication and sale, and you will receive a random selection of nine prints in return.

Delivery of prints - mailing address and deadline:

Please wrap & interleave prints with glassine or tissue paper and post to
Castlemaine Press c/o Post Office Box 201, Castlemaine, Victoria, Australia 3450.
Prints to be received by Castlemaine Press no later than Monday 28th Septmeber 2026.


Exhibition and sale:

An exhibition and sale of prints will be held at Castlemaine Press, Lot 19 on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th October 2026. Timed to coincide with the wonderful Lot19 Spring Sculpture Prize. There will also be an online exhibition of all received prints on the Castlemaine Press website.


Entry fee:
Australian entries - AUD$45
International entries (outside Australia) - AUD$55


Print sales and proceeds:

One work from each artist will be displayed and available for purchase (AUD $60 each) on the exhibition weekend.

Entry and sale proceeds will support Castlemaine Press, a volunteer organisation run by local artists. This is our main fundraiser for the year and allows Castlemaine Press to remain as a well-equipped open-access print studio for the surrounding community.

10% of the proceeds raised will be donated to the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC).

Saturday 10th October 1pm - Opening celebration! All welcome.

Saturday 10th & Sunday 11th October - Exhibition and sales at Castlemaine Press studio.
