In My Backyard: online 2025
It was wonderful to have Chrisanne Blennerhasset, longtime organiser of In My Backyard, to open the 2025 IMBY with great insight and sensitivity to the 38 presented works. Members and friends gathered for the opening and many visitors dropped in throughout the day which coincided with the Lot 19 Spring Sculputre Prize as usual! $2360.50 raised through entries and sales with 10% of this donated to the Asylum Resource Centre.
In My Back Yard: online 2024
Another year of the ‘In My Back Yard’ international print exchange and another year of fabulous work from beginners to established printmakers. This year’s exhibition was opened by the most engaging Joel Meadows of ‘Yes, In My Back Yard!’ composting initiative. Our exhibition resonated with many of Joel’s interests: the little tiny things we see, hear, and feel in our own back yards that help keep the world a greener place to live in. What will you submit next year?
In My Back Yard: online 2023
The 6th annual print exchange of ‘In My Back Yard’ culminated with a colourful exhibition of over 40 prints and celebrated with a joyful opening on the day of our national referendum and the Lot 19 Spring Sculpture Prize. Committee member and organiser, Chrisanne Blennerhassett, gave a heartfelt Acknowledgement of Country before Dr Colleen Boyle gave an opening speech in recognition of the diversity of work under the umbrella of such a universal theme. Thank you to everyone who took the time to make a print and contribute to this initiative. We look forward to receiving more beautiful prints from you all in 2024!
